New Data Brief Examines Cleveland Dance

A new data brief released today through a partnership of Arts Cleveland and The Center for Economic Development at Cleveland State University’s Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs finds that dance in Cleveland is robust and growing. According to the brief, Cleveland’s dance industry had a one year-growth rate that was faster than all other local industries on measures of employment, total payroll, average wage and number of establishments. The analysis found that Cleveland’s dance industry also grew faster than Ohio’s and the rest of the U.S. over that same period.

Artists and scientists both seek pathways that lead to the heart of exploration.  The search begs questions like, “how can I make the impossible, possible?” We often make our own best guinea pigs in our attempts to answer such questions.  I had the opportunity to offer myself up to self-experiment when I received breast cancer diagnosis.  I endeavored to dedicate my life to explore my ideas about the power of consciousness over cell regeneration, and the effectiveness of creative process as a tool for transformation.
